Wisdom of the Unknown Tarot

The Wisdom of the Unknown Tarot is a deck designed by Taliyah, a Toronto-based artist with a spiritual inclination and a love for travel and culture. The deck's visual theme, as depicted on its packaging, centers on classical statuary, specifically an angelic figure. This imagery suggests a connection to traditional spiritual or mythological archetypes, aiming to evoke a sense of timeless wisdom and mystery.

The campaign blurb invites users to "Explore the wonders and the wisdom of the unknown," which aligns with the evocative and somewhat ethereal imagery presented. While specific card details are not provided, the consistent use of the angelic figure on the packaging implies a cohesive artistic vision throughout the deck. The focus on "wisdom of the unknown" suggests that the deck aims to guide users through introspection and discovery, potentially drawing on universal symbols to interpret life's deeper questions.

The Kickstarter campaign, launched in 2020, unfortunately did not meet its funding goal, raising $3,838 from 92 backers. Despite this, the concept of combining classical art with tarot divination remains a compelling approach for those seeking a deck with a refined, spiritual aesthetic. The reward tiers indicate that the deck was intended to be accompanied by various crystal wands and cleansing tools, suggesting a holistic approach to the divination experience.

The artwork on the deck packaging features a digitally rendered image of a classical stone statue, likely an angel or a similar winged figure, against a dramatic, cloudy sky. The statue is depicted in shades of grey and white, with subtle hints of blue and green in the background, creating a serene yet powerful atmosphere. The figure is shown pouring water from one golden cup to another, a gesture reminiscent of the Temperance card in traditional tarot, suggesting balance, flow, and moderation. The overall aesthetic is elegant and somewhat melancholic, blending classical art with a mystical undertone. The digital medium allows for smooth transitions and a polished finish, giving the impression of a high-quality art piece.

This deck is suited for tarot readers who appreciate classical art, spiritual themes, and a sense of mystery. It would appeal to those who prefer decks with a more serious, contemplative tone rather than whimsical or modern styles. Collectors of unique tarot decks, especially those interested in angelic or mythological iconography, would also find this deck appealing. The emphasis on "wisdom of the unknown" suggests it might resonate with individuals seeking deeper spiritual insights and guidance.
