The Telluric Tarot

The Telluric Tarot is a unique divination deck that expands beyond the traditional 78-card structure, offering 83 cards focused on the natural world. Each card features a specific mineral or plant, chosen for its inherent symbolic and energetic properties, which are then translated into divinatory messages. The deck aims to connect users with the earth's wisdom, drawing insights from the deep symbolism found in geology and botany.

Created by Lunaria Gold, the deck was successfully funded on Kickstarter in 2019, raising $26,277 from 451 backers. The campaign emphasized the deck's ability to provide guidance through the lens of natural elements, offering a grounded and organic approach to divination. The companion book, available in both PDF and full-color softcover formats, is designed to help users interpret these natural symbols and integrate them into their readings.

While the core deck is described as 78 cards in some reward tiers, the blurb explicitly states "83 minerals and plants," suggesting an expanded system or additional cards beyond the standard tarot structure. This expansion allows for a broader range of natural energies and symbols to be explored, making it suitable for those who appreciate a more detailed and nature-centric approach to their spiritual practice.

Based on the campaign description, the artwork focuses on minerals and plants, suggesting detailed botanical and geological illustrations. The style is likely naturalistic, aiming to accurately represent the forms and textures of these earth elements while imbuing them with symbolic meaning. Without visual input, specific details about color palette, line quality, or overall artistic approach remain unconfirmed, but the theme implies an aesthetic that honors the beauty and complexity of the natural world.

This deck is ideal for nature enthusiasts, herbalists, crystal practitioners, and anyone interested in connecting with the earth's wisdom through divination. It will appeal to readers who prefer a non-traditional, nature-based system over classic tarot imagery, and those who enjoy exploring the symbolic properties of plants and minerals. It may also attract collectors looking for unique, theme-specific decks.
