The Luminous Void Tarot is a unique 78-card deck created by artist and seer Laura Zuspan, developed over three years of painting. It aims to re-contextualize tarot as an ethical, emotionally intelligent healing practice, viewing the cards as a cycle of universal archetypes that map human psychology and consciousness. The deck draws inspiration from diverse sources including Tibetan Buddhist concepts like Crazy Wisdom and the Rainbow Body, Trickster Medicine, and mystical Medieval manuscripts, alongside modern art influences.

Zuspan's intention was to create a playful, contemporary, and artistic deck deeply infused with spiritual and historical context. The physical design of the cards is distinctive, featuring elliptical rounded edges on the top and bottom, reminiscent of 15th-century medieval playing cards found at the Cloisters in NYC. This design choice, combined with the lush watercolor artwork, gives the deck a unique aesthetic that stands apart from more traditional or mass-produced tarot decks.

The production quality includes 400 GSM card stock with matte lamination and gold foil on the sides, as well as a gold foil accent on the back design of each card. The deck is housed in a full-color printed box made from 1500 gsm cardboard. This attention to detail in materials and finishing reflects the creator's commitment to producing a high-quality art object that also serves as a functional tool for intuitive and psychological exploration.

Laura Zuspan is an artist and seer whose journey with tarot began in childhood, introduced by her maternal grandmother and aunt. She combined her artistic career with a healing practice, earning a BFA from the San Francisco Art Institute and evolving her art and mystical practices in various cities. In 2014, she established a dedicated Tarot reading room in her art studio, leading to the merging of her two passions into The Luminous Void Tarot. Her practice focuses on re-contextualizing tarot as an ethical healing tool, drawing inspiration from Tibetan Buddhism, Trickster Medicine, and medieval manuscripts.
