The Lost Forest: Tarot 2nd Edition

The Lost Forest: Tarot 2nd Edition is a 78-card deluxe tarot deck created by artist Chelsea Santamaria, designed to guide users on an introspective journey through the subconscious. This second edition builds upon the original, offering a refined and visually rich experience. The deck's aesthetic is characterized by deep, saturated colors and intricate details, evoking a sense of mystery and wonder within its fantastical settings.

The deck's imagery draws from a blend of mythological archetypes, natural elements, and dark fantasy motifs. Cards like "The Fool" depict solitary figures in moonlit forests, while "King of Oceans" features a merman-like figure, suggesting a reinterpretation of traditional tarot roles within a unique narrative framework. The campaign successfully raised $35,036 from 440 backers, indicating a strong community interest in its artistic vision and thematic depth.

While the campaign story is brief, the visual evidence suggests a deck that prioritizes artistic expression and emotional resonance. The "adventure through the subconscious" theme implies a focus on personal growth, shadow work, and intuitive interpretation, making it suitable for readers who appreciate a more narrative and visually driven approach to tarot.

The artwork in The Lost Forest: Tarot is characterized by its rich, saturated color palette and detailed, illustrative style. Each card appears to be a miniature piece of art, featuring deep blues, fiery oranges, and mystical purples that create a dramatic and immersive atmosphere. The style leans towards dark fantasy, with elements like skeletal dragons, ethereal forest scenes, and mythical beings such as the "King of Oceans" (a merman). The compositions are dynamic, often featuring central figures or landscapes that draw the eye. The overall impression is one of depth and intricate storytelling, with a strong emphasis on mood and atmosphere.

This deck is ideal for experienced tarot readers and collectors who appreciate dark fantasy art, mythological themes, and a visually immersive reading experience. It will also appeal to those interested in shadow work, subconscious exploration, and intuitive interpretation, rather than strict adherence to traditional RWS symbolism. Readers who prefer vibrant, detailed illustrations over minimalist or traditional styles will find this deck particularly engaging.
