The Likely Oracle

The Likely Oracle is presented as a unique card deck that bridges the gap between the natural world and the symbolic language of tarot. Created by Kate Johnson, the deck encourages users to delve into correspondences, intuition, and the inherent rhythm of the cards to uncover deeper insights. The core concept revolves around finding and appreciating the beauty in the interconnectedness of these two distinct realms.

While the specific card count and system are not detailed, the campaign emphasizes an exploratory approach, suggesting it might function as an oracle deck or a tarot-inspired system rather than a strict Rider-Waite-Smith interpretation. The focus on "correspondences" implies a rich symbolic framework that links natural elements, phenomena, or creatures with archetypal tarot meanings, inviting a more intuitive and personal reading experience.

The deck's successful Kickstarter campaign, raising over $21,000 from 203 backers, indicates a strong interest in its thematic fusion of nature and divination. The project launched in 2021, suggesting a contemporary approach to card design and interpretation. The emphasis on "intuition" and "rhythm" points to a reading style that prioritizes personal connection and flow over rigid adherence to traditional meanings.

Based on the campaign description, the artwork for The Likely Oracle is intended to visually represent the natural world and its connections to tarot symbolism. While no images are available, the theme suggests illustrations that likely incorporate botanical, animal, or landscape elements. The emphasis on "beauty in the overlap" implies a harmonious and possibly illustrative style that blends these natural motifs with the archetypal imagery or concepts of tarot, rather than a purely abstract or minimalist approach.

This deck is suited for readers who appreciate a strong connection to nature and are interested in exploring divination through an intuitive, correspondence-based system. It would appeal to those who enjoy oracle decks or tarot-inspired systems that encourage personal interpretation and a less rigid approach to card meanings. Readers seeking a deck that blends natural aesthetics with spiritual insight will find this appealing.
