The Fantasy Art Tarot Deck

The Fantasy Art Tarot Deck is a 78-card tarot deck created by artist Mercedes Auman, designed to bring a personal touch of mythical creatures and vibrant fantasy art to the traditional tarot system. The deck incorporates Auman's past artwork, suggesting a diverse range of fantasy themes and styles within the collection. The campaign successfully raised $11,139 from 163 backers, indicating a strong interest in its unique artistic approach.

The creation process for each card involved multiple traditional art techniques: hand pencil drawing, inking, and watercolor painting. Gold ink was also added to specific pieces, suggesting a touch of metallic shimmer or accent on certain cards. After the physical artwork was completed, each piece was scanned and digitally edited in Photoshop for cleanup and final assembly into the card design. This blend of traditional and digital methods highlights a meticulous approach to the artwork's production.

The deck is accompanied by a booklet, which is essential for understanding the card meanings and the artist's interpretations within the fantasy framework. While specific details about the card stock or finish are not provided, the emphasis on detailed, colorful fantasy art suggests a visually rich reading experience. The inclusion of mythical creatures promises a deck that will appeal to those who appreciate imaginative and fantastical elements in their divination tools.
