The Beasties Oracle // 44 Rebellious Animal Spirit Cards

The Beasties Oracle is a 44-card deck created by artist Heath Armstrong, designed to provide "Wild Wisdom for Your Untamed Mind." Each card features a unique animal or mythical creature, rendered in a distinctive, highly colorful, and somewhat psychedelic art style. The deck aims to connect users with the rebellious and untamed aspects of animal spirits, offering guidance that encourages intuition and personal freedom.

The deck includes a comprehensive guidebook, which is an essential component for understanding the specific messages and interpretations associated with each of the 44 "beasties." The campaign emphasizes the deck's ability to foster self-discovery and provide insights for navigating life's challenges with a sense of wildness and authenticity. The visual style is a key feature, making each card a standalone piece of art while contributing to a cohesive, energetic oracle system.

Successfully funded on Kickstarter in 2024 with 355 backers, The Beasties Oracle has garnered support for its unique artistic vision and its promise of a spirited, unconventional approach to divination. The deck is presented in a sturdy box, indicating a focus on durability and presentation for both collectors and regular users.

The artwork for The Beasties Oracle is characterized by its bold, high-contrast linework filled with an explosion of psychedelic and neon colors. Each animal is depicted with intricate patterns and vibrant hues that often deviate from naturalistic representation, creating a fantastical and energetic aesthetic. For example, the "DOG" card features a husky-like creature with blue fur and a rainbow background, while the "UNISQUID" (a unicorn-squid hybrid) is rendered in purples and blues with cosmic elements. The style is reminiscent of adult coloring books or intricate tattoo designs, with a clear emphasis on visual impact and a playful, rebellious spirit.

This deck is ideal for oracle readers who are drawn to vibrant, unconventional, and psychedelic art styles. It appeals to individuals seeking animal spirit guidance with a rebellious or untamed edge, moving beyond traditional, serene nature themes. Collectors of unique art decks and those who appreciate intricate, colorful illustrations will also find this deck appealing. It is suitable for both beginners and experienced oracle users looking for an intuitive and visually stimulating experience.
