SISU custom tarot deck

The SISU custom tarot deck is a complete 78-card series, entirely hand-drawn and designed by artist Mason Buchanan. Launched successfully on Kickstarter in 2019, the project aimed to bring Buchanan's unique artistic vision to the traditional tarot structure. The deck is presented as a full series of original custom designs, emphasizing the creator's personal touch and artistic effort.

Each deck is accompanied by a four-page fold-out booklet, which likely provides basic card meanings or insights into the artist's interpretations, making it accessible for readers. The cards are housed in a customized tuck box, also designed by Buchanan, ensuring a cohesive aesthetic from the packaging to the individual cards. Higher tiers offered premium packaging, such as a black gold-leafed box, signed and numbered, indicating a focus on collectible quality for dedicated backers.

The campaign highlights the hand-drawn nature of the artwork, suggesting a raw, personal, and potentially intricate style. While specific thematic elements or visual motifs are not detailed in the campaign story, the emphasis on "custom designed" and "original" artwork implies a departure from strictly traditional Rider-Waite-Smith imagery, offering a fresh perspective on the tarot system.

The artwork for the SISU custom tarot deck is described as entirely hand-drawn and put together by the artist, Mason Buchanan. This suggests a unique, personal artistic style rather than a digitally rendered or mass-produced aesthetic. Given the emphasis on "custom designed" and "original" artwork, the visual approach likely deviates from traditional tarot imagery, offering a fresh interpretation of the Major and Minor Arcana. The hand-drawn nature implies a potentially intricate, detailed, or perhaps raw and expressive style, reflecting the artist's individual creative vision.

This deck is suitable for tarot enthusiasts and collectors who appreciate unique, artist-driven interpretations of the tarot system. It will appeal to those who value hand-drawn artwork and limited-edition items, particularly given the custom packaging and signed options. Readers looking for a deck with a distinct artistic voice, rather than a strict adherence to traditional RWS visuals, would find this deck compelling.
