Rune Deck: Elder Futhark Oracle Cards by Jemilla Lea

The Rune Deck by Jemilla Lea is a 25-card oracle deck that offers a contemporary interpretation of the Elder Futhark runic system. Designed as an alternative to physical runestones, this deck provides a portable and visually consistent method for divination and introspection. The cards are square with rounded corners, featuring a stark black background that highlights the white or light-toned runic symbols and accompanying artwork.

The deck includes all 24 traditional Elder Futhark runes, plus a blank card, which is often included in modern runic sets to represent the unknown or fate. This structure makes the deck suitable for traditional runic readings while offering the tactile experience of cards. The minimalist design emphasizes clarity and focus on the runic symbols themselves, making them easily recognizable and distinct.

While the campaign blurb is brief, the visual evidence suggests a focus on quality and a clean aesthetic. The deck aims to bridge the gap between ancient divination practices and modern design preferences, appealing to those who appreciate both the historical significance of runes and a sleek, contemporary presentation.

The artwork is minimalist and graphic, primarily using a black-and-white color scheme with subtle grey gradients and textures. The card backs feature a stylized eye motif with radiating lines, rendered in white on a dark grey background, giving a sense of mysticism and insight. The card fronts, as seen on the 'blank' rune card, display a simple white runic symbol against a black background, with a slight textured or distressed effect that adds depth without clutter. The overall aesthetic is clean, modern, and slightly gothic, emphasizing the symbolic power of the runes through stark contrast and bold lines.

This deck is ideal for individuals interested in runic divination who prefer a card-based system over traditional runestones. It appeals to beginners seeking an accessible entry point into Elder Futhark runes, as well as experienced readers who appreciate a modern, minimalist aesthetic. Collectors of unique oracle decks and those drawn to dark, elegant, or symbolic art will also find this deck appealing.
