Rainbow Unicorn Tarot

The Rainbow Unicorn Tarot is a 78-card deck designed to bring a sense of joy and lightheartedness to tarot readings. Created by Cosmic Eye, this second printing of the deck was a limited run of 300 decks, successfully funded on Kickstarter in 2021. The deck adheres to the traditional Rider-Waite-Smith (RWS) system, making it accessible for both beginners and experienced readers who are familiar with RWS symbolism.

Each card features vibrant, simplified illustrations of unicorns in various scenes, reimagining classic tarot archetypes through a whimsical lens. The color palette is bright and cheerful, utilizing bold, flat colors and clear linework to create an approachable aesthetic. The deck includes an 8-page accordion booklet that provides card meanings, offering guidance for interpretation within its unique visual framework.

While the campaign story is brief, the visual evidence confirms a consistent, playful style across the Major and Minor Arcana. The deck aims to provide a positive and uplifting reading experience, making complex tarot concepts more digestible through its charming and optimistic imagery. Its limited second printing status also positions it as a collectible item for enthusiasts of unique and themed tarot decks.

The artwork is digitally illustrated with a clean, vector-like aesthetic, characterized by bold outlines and flat, saturated colors. The palette is exceptionally bright, featuring purples, pinks, blues, and yellows that contribute to a cheerful and whimsical mood. Unicorns are depicted in a simplified, cartoonish style, with expressive faces and flowing, multi-colored manes and tails. The compositions are straightforward, directly translating RWS symbolism into unicorn-centric scenes, such as two unicorns embracing for The Lovers or a winged unicorn for Temperance. The overall visual approach prioritizes clarity and a lighthearted tone, making the traditional tarot imagery feel fresh and accessible.

This deck is ideal for tarot beginners seeking a non-intimidating entry into the RWS system, as its cheerful imagery can make learning card meanings more enjoyable. It also appeals to collectors of whimsical or unicorn-themed decks, and readers who prefer a bright, positive aesthetic in their divination tools. Those who appreciate simplified, cartoon-style digital art will find this deck particularly engaging.
