Northern Animal Tarot 2nd Edition

The Northern Animal Tarot 2nd Edition is a fully illustrated tarot deck that reimagines traditional archetypes through the lens of anthropomorphic wild animals and fairytale narratives. Created by Linda of Wilder Hearts Studio, this deck is her second project, building on a passion for storytelling art and magical journeys. The imagery aims to evoke a sense of playfulness and wonder, drawing inspiration from fairytales and folktales.

Each deck comes with a white booklet designed to fit conveniently inside the tuck box, providing guidance for readers. The campaign emphasizes the deck's ability to stretch the imagination and connect users with stories dreamed long ago, suggesting a reading experience that is both intuitive and deeply imaginative. The 2nd Edition signifies a refinement or re-release of the original concept, indicating a successful and evolving artistic vision.

The deck's aesthetic combines vibrant colors with detailed illustrations, presenting animals in evocative scenes that correspond to tarot card meanings. The overall design, from the tuck box with its gold foil details to the individual card art, aims to create a cohesive and enchanting experience for users, inviting them into a world where nature and magic intertwine.

The artwork is characterized by a vibrant, illustrative style with a strong emphasis on anthropomorphic animals. The color palette is rich and varied, featuring deep blues, greens, and earthy browns, punctuated by brighter accents like the golden sun or the red cloaks of the foxes in 'The Moon' card. The illustrations have a hand-drawn quality, with visible brushstrokes and textures, suggesting a mixed-media approach that is then digitally rendered or enhanced. Animals are depicted with expressive faces and human-like postures, often adorned with clothing or accessories that enhance their character. The card backs feature a repeating pattern of foxes, pinecones, and oak leaves, reinforcing the 'northern animal' theme. The tuck box itself is a deep blue with gold foil lettering and a detailed illustration of a wolf's head, swords, and a chalice, hinting at the deck's blend of animal themes with traditional tarot symbolism.

This deck is ideal for tarot readers who appreciate whimsical, nature-themed, and anthropomorphic art styles. It will appeal to those who enjoy fairytales, folklore, and a sense of magic in their readings. Readers of all skill levels, from beginners to experienced practitioners, will find the intuitive animal imagery engaging, especially if they are drawn to decks that offer a softer, more imaginative approach to traditional tarot archetypes.
