Holly Simple's Amulet Friends Oracle Deck + Book

The Amulet Friends Oracle is a 77-card deck created by artist Holly Simple, designed as a tool for self-discovery and spiritual growth. The deck's imagery is a direct response to the artist's experiences in New Mexico, drawing inspiration from the subdued Southwestern color palette, local street art in Taos and Santa Fe, and the desert's high vibrations. Each card features unique, hand-illustrated and digitally colored artwork, with animal characters serving as 'Amulet Friends' to guide the user.

The deck's name reflects its purpose: an amulet offers protection and comfort, and the animal 'friends' in the cards are intended to provide guidance and clarity, much like nature's messengers. The artwork also incorporates influences from traditional tattoo flash, Buddhist Deities, and vintage Prayer Cards, creating a distinctive visual language. The set includes a mini guidebook and is packaged in a durable custom two-part box, with the cards nestled in a luxe orange velveteen bag.

Holly Simple self-published this deck following the success of her previous tarot and oracle projects. The campaign emphasized making the deck accessible and affordable by ordering in bulk, funded through pre-orders. The artist's intention is for the Amulet Friends Oracle to foster a deeper connection to the divine and support individuals in their personal spiritual journeys, offering a visual tool for building awareness and awakening.

The artwork for the Amulet Friends Oracle is described as hand-illustrated, inked, and then digitally colored. The style is influenced by Southwestern aesthetics, traditional tattoo flash, Buddhist Deities, and vintage Prayer Cards. The campaign mentions a 'subdued Southwestern color palette,' suggesting earthy tones and natural hues. Animal characters are central to the imagery, serving as 'Amulet Friends.' The combination of hand-inking and digital coloring likely results in clean lines with vibrant, yet possibly muted, color fills, creating a distinctive and spiritually resonant visual style.

This deck is ideal for oracle readers seeking a unique, artist-driven deck with a strong spiritual and nature-inspired theme. It will appeal to individuals interested in Southwestern aesthetics, traditional tattoo art, or Buddhist iconography. Readers who appreciate animal symbolism and a focus on protection, comfort, and personal growth will find this deck particularly resonant. It is suitable for both new and experienced oracle users looking for an intuitive tool to enhance their spiritual practice.

Holly Simple is an artist who previously brought the "Holly Simple Tarot" and "Fuzzy Prism Oracle" decks to life through successful Kickstarter campaigns. The Amulet Friends Oracle is her third deck, born from a new wave of inspiration and soul lessons experienced during time spent in New Mexico. The designs were directly influenced by the subdued Southwestern color palette, local street art in Taos and Santa Fe, and the high vibrations of the desert lands. Her creative process involves hand-illustrating and inking each card before digitally coloring them, and she self-publishes her work.
