Everybody's Oracle

Everybody's Oracle is a 50-card oracle deck designed by Sara Kathleen, characterized by its simple, bright, and modern aesthetic. The deck aims to provide meaningful guidance through straightforward imagery and single-word or short-phrase card titles. Launched successfully on Kickstarter in 2023, the deck reflects a playful approach to divination, making it accessible for a wide range of users.

The deck's philosophy centers on clarity and intuition, with each card presenting a distinct concept or object, such as "The Potato," "The Unicorn," "Beauty," and "Hope." This directness encourages readers to engage with the cards on a personal level, drawing their own interpretations from the whimsical illustrations. The accompanying guidebook is intended to support this intuitive process, offering further insights into each card's meaning.

Sara Kathleen's background in illustration and a stated affinity for nature and paganism inform the deck's unique blend of contemporary art and spiritual undertones. The overall design emphasizes approachability and a lighthearted perspective on life's questions, making it a refreshing alternative to more traditional or complex oracle systems. The deck is suitable for daily reflection, quick readings, or as a creative prompt.

The artwork is characterized by a minimalist, cartoonish style with bold black outlines and a vibrant, high-contrast color palette. Each card features a single, central image against a brightly colored background, such as a purple armchair with a potato, a pink sky with a blue unicorn, or a teal background with a light blue blob holding a flower. The figures are simplified, often anthropomorphic, and convey a sense of innocent whimsy and humor. The overall visual effect is cheerful and approachable, aligning with the deck's stated goal of being "simple, bright, modern, and meaningful." The style is reminiscent of contemporary graphic design and children's book illustrations, making it visually distinct from many other oracle decks.

This deck is ideal for beginners to oracle reading due to its straightforward imagery and clear, single-word titles. It also appeals to experienced readers seeking a lighthearted, modern, and intuitive tool for daily guidance or creative inspiration. Individuals who appreciate minimalist, whimsical, or cartoonish art styles will find the aesthetic particularly engaging. It is well-suited for those who prefer a less serious or complex approach to divination.

Sara Kathleen describes herself as an "ancient, usually talking to a tree, and often lemon scented" artist with a passion for illustration, pyrography, nature, and paganism. She embraces the role of a "professional whim follower," suggesting an intuitive and free-spirited approach to her creative work. This personal philosophy is evident in the lighthearted and whimsical nature of Everybody's Oracle, reflecting her connection to nature and a playful perspective on life.
