ETA Tarot || Emerging Toronto Artists

The ETA Tarot is a unique 80-card deck born from a collaborative art project, featuring the diverse talents of 76 emerging artists from Toronto and four international guest artists. Conceived by Alexa Trilli, the project initially began as a gallery exhibit before evolving into a published tarot deck. This deck offers a wide spectrum of artistic styles and interpretations, providing a fresh perspective on traditional tarot archetypes.

Designed for both seasoned tarot enthusiasts and those new to the practice, the ETA Tarot includes an online starter's guide to help backers learn the system. Each card is a distinct piece of art, allowing users to appreciate the deck either through traditional tarot spreads or as individual art prints. The deck's focus on emerging artists makes it a celebration of creativity and artistic passion, offering a dynamic and varied visual experience across its 22 Major Arcana, 56 Minor Arcana, and two bonus cards.

The project was successfully funded on Kickstarter in 2017, with a goal to print 350 decks and an artist catalogue/guidebook. The campaign emphasized the deck as a limited edition, with no plans for future reprints, making it a collectible item. The physical deck features 300gsm cardstock with a smooth finish and rounded edges, housed in a custom-designed tuck box.

Alexa Trilli, the organizer and publisher of the ETA Tarot, is also the founding director of Emerging Toronto Artists and a glitter artist herself, having created the 'Temperance' card in the deck. The concept for the ETA Tarot originated as a group art exhibit, which then expanded to include the production of a printed tarot deck. Trilli's vision was to bring together a collective of 80 emerging artists to share their creativity and artistic passion through this unique project, culminating in both a deck and a gallery exhibit.
